When I started writing online, I heard various reactions. Some inspiring, some inspired, some skeptical. But one question bugged me the most.
“Why do you want to start a blog? Why do you want to write?”
“What are you trying to promote? Is it supposed to be a travelogue? It looks like one, but you have mixed it all up.. You need a purpose.”
I asked the question to myself. I couldn’t get an answer that fits the framework of “why do you want to” questions. But it hatched another question.
If I were only speaking instead of writing, would someone ask me, “What’s the purpose of your talking?”
Certainly not. Because speaking is my right.
That’s why I am writing. And that’s why this blog.
Because expression is my very fundamental right.
You have a valid answer to counter this question. Well said.
